The pictures here are of the Royal Engineers at Sandwich during the 1914-18 War when they built and ran
Port Richborough, ferrying materials to and from Belgium by means of barges (built at the port) and train ferries.  This selection represents just part of the exhibition and is of material from the Sandwich Guildhall Archive.

On Saturday 3rd April 2004 the Royal Engineers were presented with the Key of the Ancient Cinque Port of Sandwich. This was followed by a Ceremonial March Past around the town.
